Eragon by Christopher Paolini

I recently re-read Eragon in anticipation of the release of Eldest which came out a couple months ago. Paolini has much talent and much potential. The story-line is good, especially if you like books about dragons.

His age and (im)maturity show through, however. It is obvious that Paolini has not lost a loved one, nor loved (he is afterall only about 20 years old.). The book is too long, as well. Many descriptions are better off on a screen-play not in a book. A book should capture the reader's imagination, not fill the imagination like a movie.

Overall, I liked it, and I look forward to reading Eldest.
